What a day...
Well, I was supposed to be putting a clutch in Matt's Jeep today (Sun),
but instead got to drive out to Houston to pick Wes and Tara up after an
early morning call telling me they had been in a bad wreck outside of
Houston and had totaled her car. Other than Wes looking like someone
had beat his butt, and his face black and blue (seat belt and air bag)
and Tara receiving burns on both arms (steering wheel airbag deployment)
and two possible broke thumbs (she had a "death grip" on the steering
wheel when the airbag deployed and it "removed" her hands from the
steering wheel) and some seat belt trauma, they are both fine. Sore as
the dickens, but otherwise fine. Even with a seat belt and air bag, Wes
still got into the windshield. Ripped the seat loose from the floor board!
And that was a heck of a little "impromptu" trip for "The Mighty Mighty
GeoVan", but she took it without missing a single beat. Many, many
miles, and many many hours behind the wheel. I didn't do so bad for an
old goat myself. It's been a while since I did a driving "marathon",
glad to know I still can if need be. I'm going to bed, might sleep for
the next couple of days too.

No they were near Lovic, TX, and just 3 cars in this one. They did tell
me about the 71 car pile up in/around Houston though and I believe they
said 9 cars burned but no one was hurt. That's a miracle!
