Gastric bypass
Hello everyone. I am a new member who is thinking about having the
surgery. My husband has already had it and is doing well. He has
lost about 60 pounds since his surgery in September. Thank you in
advance for any responses I may receive.
HELLO EVERYONE, I AM A NEW MEMBER. I LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.
I AM NOT YET SCHEDULED FOR THE SURGERY. BUT MY ENDOCRINOLIST HAS
SENT ME FOR SEVERAL TESTS. ONE OF WHICH IS THE SLEEP APNEA TEST.
AND I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE SLEEP APNEA. THIS IS VERY
FRIGHTENING TO ME, WHO LIVE ALONE. SOMETIMES I'M AFRAID I MAY NOT
WAKE UP. I WILL SCHEDULE MY SURGERY FOR SOMETIME IN JANUARY. I WANT
TO ENJOY THESE HOLIDAYS FOR THE LAST TIME, THIS WAY. NEXT YEAR, THIS
TIME, HOPEFULLY, I WILL NO LONGER REQUIRE THE USE OF THE CPAP
MACHINE. (A MACHINE USED TO FORCE AIR INTO YOUR AIRWAY TO MAINTAIN IT
FROM CLOSING DURING SLEEP. THIS IS THE TREATMENT OF CHOICE FOR THOSE
WITH OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA. ANYONE ELSE DIAGNOSED WITH SLEEP APNEA
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO RESPOND.
I have sleep apnea and have had it diagnosed for two years. I can't use the cpap but I do use oxygen at night and it helps. I am going to have the Adjustable gastric banding done in Jan. good luck, Carol
