Finally Made the decision
Hi All,
Well, I finally did it. I committed to having the surgery done. I
have been thinking about it for over a year seriously and I am going
to the surgeon again on the 7th of Dec. to tell him I'm going to
have the surgery. I called the head of the program I have to go
through to today too and have an appointment to see her on the 19th
to be evaluated...measured, questioned, etc. My insurance already
approved me so that's ok. Now I have to start getting all my tests
done, go to the support group meetings and wait for a date. I feel
like a huge weight (no pun intended) has been taken off me. I've
read so much about all the different surgeries and have decided on
the RNY Laproscopic bypass. I have about 100 pounds to loose. I
know I'm not as heavy as some of you out there who have had this
surgery, but believe me, I need it too. I am 4'11" and on my tiny
frame, 100 pounds extra is alot!! I also have very bad arthritis
and have already had a total knee replacement last Jan. I don't
want to have the other knee done and the excess weight is not
helping me.
I know I will probably have to wait a long time for a surgery date,
but that's ok now that I am sure I'm going to finally do it.
Good luck to all of you in the same boat, and best wishes to
everyone who has already had their operation.
