Dumbdog's first walk of 2003...
Well, I just couldn't stand all that nice sunshine and warmer
temperatures we had today, so I hooked Dumbdog to the leash-o-matic and
we headed out for our first walk for 2003. Only did half our normal
lap, which adds up to a tad over a half a mile. I think I actually made
it back in better shape than Dumbdog did. At least I didn't slide into
the floor with my tongue flopping around on the kitchen linoleum.
It was good to get outside and get the muscles moving. Smell the fresh
air, see the birds, have the dog rip my arm off when he saw the
squirrel. We stopped and chatted (with my best opera voice) with my
sick friend up the street that I take care of. It was good to see him
moving around too.
Another thing that happened today was I missed all the shows at Shades
Valley Theater this weekend. The first time in 9 years that I didn't
make a performance. I went up there to take Cait so she could usher,
and I stayed long enough to pick up a ton of trash along the walkway
into the Theater, but that was it. Joy and I are planning on making it
to the Monday night meeting, but don't be surprised if I'm not too
vocal, still can't talk worth a dern (speel nither). And the more I
talk, the longer it takes to heal the damage and strain from all the
coughing I did. So I may just do a lot of "shaking and muttering".
Hope to see all of you there. I've REALLY been missing all of you!
Tim.
