Bowel Prep Advice!!!

For all you pre-ops that have yet to experience the joys of bowel
prep the day before surgery, I want to share a few tips I
incorporated this morning that really seemed to help with this joyous
experience . . .
I took my little bottle of phosphorus soda and put it in the freezer
for about 30-40 minutes to get it really good and cold. I then got
one of those little 8-ounce Coca-Cola cans (the ones that look like
midget cans) and put it in the freezer, too - for the same amount of
time. I then grabbed my little 2.5 ounce paper medicine cup that the
nutritionist gave me at my required Pre-Op Nutrition Class a month or
so ago and placed it on the counter, along with a tablespoon
measuring spoon. Once the phosphorus soda and coke were very, very
cold, and it was time to begin according to the clock on the wall, I
measured out one tablespoon of the p-soda, poured it into the 2.5
ounce medicine paper cup and popped the top on my midget coke can.
Putting the filled medicine paper cup in my left hand (I'm a rightie)
and my thoroughly chilled coke on my right hand, I said a quick
prayer and very quickly downed the p-soda, and as soon as I swallowed
(actually as I was in the process of swallowing) I had the can of
coke to my lips and immediately took a huge gulp. I only had to
repeat this process twice more and now I'm done until this
afternoon . . . It really, really, really made the difference - let
me tell you!!!
So if you want to, print this little tip out and hold on to it if you
decide to put it into practice as you begin your bowel prep
festivities. I'm sure tons of other people may have better advice but
this worked so well for me that I wanted to share - especially since
I was dreading it so much!!!
Good luck from the world of colon blow,
Steph +++

Melly I am using Dr Dewitt also. When did he do your surgery and how was it for you did he do a good job? Can you give me some details? He is doing mine December 5th and I want to know all I can about him. Thanks, Renee
